Select disassembly tool
As the saying goes, “Workers must first sharpen their tools if they want to do their best.” Notebook disassembly requires us to prepare a screwdriver and a crowbar in advance. Considering that there are standards such as cross, Pozi, Y and star for the screws for fixing the notebook, it is recommended to buy a screwdriver set with all common bits. The market price ranges from 10 USD to 100 , and the steel quality of the products is higher. And magnetic attraction effect is better.
Many laptop back covers are fixed by screws of various lengths, so be sure to remember the order of the screws when disassembling. The screws of different models are stored separately. In addition, some notebooks also have fixed screws hidden in the warranty seal, rubber feet or the back of the notebook. Be sure to find and unscrew them before disassembling.
Most notebooks can remove the bottom cover by unscrewing all the screws on the D side (the difficulty is low, and users with a little DIY experience can complete it), and a few products need to start the disassembly from the C side palm rest (this This structure is very difficult to disassemble, it is not recommended for ordinary users to try), but no matter which structure, we need to pry the cover plate along the gap of the fuselage.
In theory, a used bank card or membership card can be done, but for products with more sophisticated structures or all-metal integrated designs, only professional crowbars (sheets) can be inserted into the gap.
Look out for hidden latches
There are usually countless latches in the inner layer of the bottom cover of the notebook, so it cannot be directly separated from the fuselage after unscrewing the screws. We need to insert a crowbar along the larger gap (mostly need to start from the rear), and then slowly Open the back cover. In this process, the most taboo is to “make miracles vigorously”. The products represented by the Notebook Pro also have two sets of hidden latches in the center of the back cover. If violently dismantled, the latches will break. For products like this, it is best to use a suction cup tool (which can be replaced by a kitchen suction cup hook) to separate the back cover vertically.
If a warranty label is affixed to the screw hole of the notebook bottom cover, please consult the manufacturer’s customer service before disassembling the machine to see if the warranty will be lost if you disassemble the machine and upgrade or remove dust and dust. If the bottom cover cannot be removed by removing all the screws, it may mean that the notebook has a unique structure. It is recommended to take it to the customer service center for processing.
Cut off the power supply completely
Now 99% of the new notebooks use an integrated back cover, no separate expansion compartment is reserved for the memory hard drive, and the battery cannot be directly removed. You need to remove the entire bottom cover to see the internal structure.
What needs to be reminded is that you must unplug the power cord before screwing the bottom cover and make sure the laptop is turned off. The battery, touch panel, fingerprint reader and other functional modules inside the notebook are connected to the motherboard through a cable. The design of various cable interfaces is similar.
