2020 is destined to be an extraordinary year for Huawei. This year, the United States restricted Huawei from upgrading twice, and successively restricted Huawei’s chip foundry and Huawei’s outsourcing chip solutions. In terms of hardware, processors, monitors, memory chips, etc., as long as they contain 0.1% American technology components, Huawei will be restricted from using them. In terms of software, Google’s GMS (full name Google Mobile Service, that is, Google Mobile Service) also restricts Huawei’s use.

Although Google’s GMS mobile service is basically unused in China, in overseas markets, Google’s GMS mobile service is standard for smartphones. Without Google’s GMS mobile service, Huawei phones will be abandoned by overseas users. Forced to be helpless, Huawei had to provide a set of Huawei HMS services that were benchmarked against Google GMS. At the same time, it also launched its own operating system Hongmeng OS to replace Google’s Android system.

As we all know, the Hongmeng system has been called Huawei’s secret weapon. Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong said that Huawei has never given up on the development of Hongmeng system phones, and has been working hard to develop the Hongmeng system. In 2019 alone, Huawei spent about 1 billion U.S. dollars (about 7 billion yuan) in recruiting developers. The purpose of strengthening the Hongmeng Software ecosystem is to prevent Google from suddenly coming to do so.

For Huawei, the Hongmeng system is not just an operating system that replaces Android. Hongmeng is oriented to the whole scene, which not only includes hardware, but also includes application software development, and even application platform construction, and will eventually occupy a place in the next decade of the mobile industry.

At the Huawei Developers Conference, Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei’s Consumer Business Software Department, officially announced that EMUI 11 and Magic UI 4.0 will start synchronous internal testing information, and announced that Huawei and Honor will support EMUI 11 and Magic UI 4.0 in a few months. Model, the follow-up will be the first to upgrade the Hongmeng operating system.Recently, Digital Big V announced the upgradeable Hongmeng OS adaptation process in 5 batches.

The first batch of mobile phones equipped with Kirin 9000: including the new Huawei Mate40 series and Huawei’s high-end flagships such as Huawei Mate X2. The Honor V40 Pro is also equipped with Kirin 9000, which is also in the first batch of upgrades.

The second batch of mobile phones equipped with Kirin 990 5G: including Huawei Mate30 5G series, Huawei P30 series, Huawei Mate Xs, Honor 30 Pro, 30 Pro+, Honor V30 Pro and other mobile phones.

The third batch, equipped with Kirin 990 4G (some phones)/Kirin 985/Kirin 820 (some phones): including Huawei Mate30 4G series, Nova7 series, Nova6 series, Honor V30, Honor 30, Honor X10, 30S, etc., a total of two or three Ten models.

The fourth batch is equipped with Kirin 820 (some phones)/Kirin 980/Kirin 990 4G (some phones).

The last batch of 4G phones equipped with Kirin 810 and Kirin 710 (some phones): such as Honor 9X equipped with Kirin 810, Huawei Nova6 SE, Nova 5Z, Nova5, Nova 5iPro and other phones; Huawei Enjoy 10S, Changxiang equipped with Kirin 710 10. Mobile phones such as Nova5i and Honor Play4T.

From the five batches of lists, everyone should have noticed that none of the phones equipped with Kirin 970 and Kirin 960 were selected.

Kirin 970 is Huawei’s previous flagship processor, Huawei Mate10 series, P20 series, Nova4, Nova3, Honor 10, Note10, V10, Play and other mobile phones are equipped with Kirin 970. For these old models, it’s best if you can upgrade to Hongmeng. Don’t be too surprised if you can’t upgrade. After all, the release time is already long. Even if you can upgrade, it can’t run smoothly. The later maintenance requires extremely high costs. It is reasonable to give up, and the mobile phone equipped with Kirin 960 has already been eliminated, and there is no need to upgrade.
